I just got these boots a few days ago and will write an initial review with follow up after I have worn them a bit. First, these are in women's sizes and they are sized true - I am a 9.5 women's wide and currently wear a 10 or 10.5 after breaking my leg a few years ago. I purchased a 10.5 wide (just like I would with my running shoes) and they fit absolutely perfectly. The quality is immediately evident, and I expected that as I have a couple pair of Ariat riding boots - there is a reason these are priced like they are and it is not just the brand name..the fit, quality and comfort drive the price tag and in my humble opinion it's worth it.My initial assessment is of just wearing them around the house, outside for basic chores and driving. I bought these for foot protection as I am clearing over 100 trees from my property - which includes felling, bucking and splitting all the wood. These are NOT sold as chainsaw protective boots, but since I am not a forester and just cut a few hours a week I felt they were perfectly adequate for the proctecion I need. The true test of comfort, stability, and protection will come soon as I get to work in the cooler weather. One note: The back of the heel inside tends to bend down a bit as you slide a socked foot in (and yes, I opened/widened the laces to fully open the mouth of the boot). The first couple times it popped back into place when I yanked up the tab at the back of the ankle and wiggled my foot - but to preserve the integrity of the boots I will use a shoehorn to slide my feet in so it doesn't get mashed and uncomfortable. I find that small thing a little annoying considering the quality of the boots, but I am willing to live with it since I use a shoehorn to slide my riding boots on anyway.UPDATE: Love these boots. Have worn them all day working outside, dropped a log on my foot and didn’t feel a thing. They were comfortable and the fir is so good I had zero chafing, blisters etc. There was really no breaking in period, they are comfortable and supportive from the get go.
