Rockport shoes are the only brand that fit my feet with the wide with. I've owned several pairs of Rockport work boots. These are a bit shorter than their tallest models but are taller than typical mid-height boots. These fit and feel as if I spent a year treating with mink oil and breaking them in. The outside is soft and flexible which helps the fit feel for my feet. Insoles are OK for me & I'm a bigger guy. Might need new insoles in a year but that's to be expected for me.These also are full lace-up no hooks for the top couple eyelets. I hadn't paid attention to that & glad I didn't as I would likely have passed missing out on the most comfy boots I've ever worn. I have rheumatoid arthritis which affects my feet, ankles & knees. That means I need just the right balance of support & comfort. These have that in spades. I can go on walks again. The sole & platform are fairly stiff with just enough flex as I walk. The soles are not overly firm and toward the softer side. All of these features are with the price of admission. My Grandfather was a tool & die machinist who was on concrete all day for 10-hrs daily. He once told me to never buy cheap work boots. I've followed that advice for over decades...so for me the price of these is justified because of quality and how great my feet & legs feel after a few hours on my feet. I wear them as my daily drivers.Sorry I ramble, just trying to express the level of satisfaction I have wearing these boots. It’s a well designed boot made for very large feet. The width is also great for wider feet. Only thing is it’s very heavy and my ankles are in pain throughout the week and at the end of each work day.I work as as seasonal Park Ranger and good fitting boots are a must. The wider toe box fits my foot perfectly. This is not the case with other boots I have used. This is my second pair. Since I occasional have to step into a river, the water proof feature is great as well.Having worn these boots for well-over 30 days of 6-7 days a week of 13 hour shifts on Concrete floors - I feel I can give an Honest review of initial results. First, let me say, I am an older man 59 years old and 290 pounds. The Rockport RK6640 boots are the MOST COMFORTABLE WORK BOOTS I HAVE EVER WORN! And I have tried MANY BOOTS! And SPENT MANY, MANY hours Researching Online! I Need not only Comfortable boots, but Metal Free that will let me go through the Metal Detectors Without removing them! I Have found only 3 boots that work for me - The best is Rockport RK6640, & the Royer 6 inch Metal Free - Very Comfortable as well, and Finally the Timberland PRO BOONDOCK 6 inch boot - these are Very Comfortable as well, and Probably the Best MADE - They WEAR like IRON. The Rockport boots are so comfy - I can sometimes come home after a 13 hour Shift, and NOT be compelled to Immediately remove them! I Hope Rockport does Not Stop making them! But just in case - I bought 2 more pair, I like them SO MUCH! Let me also recommend 2 upgrades I made to A GREAT BOOT - I replaced the included insoles with ORANGE TIMBERLAND PRO INSOLES, MUCH MORE COMFY! And Replaced the stock laces with KEVLAR BOOT LACES, they will not break. God Bless, I hope this information will be helpful,I bought these back in January due to my old boots hurting my feet and back. I have a much wider foot than the "B" width carried at most boot stores and these boots fit perfectly. My toes are not scrutched together and I can't feel the steel toed part at all. They are not as heavy as a pull on and not as light as the moccasin type shoe. I walk on rocks or grating all day and the rubber soles have held up. My feet and back no longer hurt. Sure they are not very fashionable but working inside a chemical plant I'm more worried about comfort. When these wear out, I will be buying another pair. The toe box is wide as advertised. I wear a EEE so I ordered the wide option. They are comfortable boots because the sides of my feet are not mashed. I use to buy Keen boots because they had a wide toe box but Keen has new designs that are still advertised as such but don't fit like their old boots. That is very disappointing because they use to make a very comfortable boot. I would prefer this same Rockport boot without the composite toe and not waterproof because ALL truly waterproof boots make your feet hot in the summer. The waterproof feature is not needed very often in the South and is not worth the hot feet. It's hard to find a good boot that is not waterproof. Again, Keen use to have a great boot with no safety toe and was not waterproof but they discontinued it. Hopefully Rockport will make a boot like that in this line.I bought these for my husband after the brand he had preferred became both hard to find and unaffordable. He said they were very comfortable right out of the box. He is still pleased with how they feel after wearing them all day nearly every day for the past year. I have not even had to buy insoles for him yet. We are both very impressed with them.I had a pair of these before that had the bottom rubber soles wear out after about 2 years of abuse. I wasn't that surprised since I work with blacktop some and I don't think any boot could stand up to walking on that stuff while it's still fresh. The main thing I like about them is their comfort though, I got wide feet and most steel toes even the wide sizes seem to squeeze my toes. These have been the only ones i've tried that have not. I like em so much I even wore them hiking once, (not a long hike, probably 2-3 miles round trip). They seem to be good quality and I've wore this pair around half a year and havent noticed anything wrong with them.
