I knew when I opened the package that the boot looked huge in the foot compared to any other shoes or boots I have - of any kind. I know to expect a 'hard toe box' in any safety toe (composite or steel). That's a given because the hard material is there to protect your foot. I typically wear anything from a 7 to an 8, with most safety toe boots & shoes being an 8. I ordered a size 8, but it slipped slightly on 1 foot, and while that might change after being broken in, the other foot was slipping completely up into the shaft of the boot. That definitely wouldn't change, so I am sent the 8 back and ordered a 7.5.The 7.5 arrived the other day. They're a perfect fit!!! Yes, a hard toe-box. I wore them around the house last night to start breaking them in a bit just to be safe. They didn't bother my feet at all. I'm looking forward to using them on the job!I love that these are waterproof, rated safe for EH, have a composite toe and they say they have a removable insert. I haven't checked out the insert yet, but will try to get to that. After walking around in these, they do seem like they will be pretty slip resistant too, but only time will tell. Many safety toe boots are oil/slip resistant but just don't seem to live up to the claim. These just might!The composite toe makes these so much lighter than my Justin steel toe western boots and just as light as my leather composite toe slip-on shoes. ♥These boots are beautiful and comfortable, so I'm looking forward to wearing them for work! ♥Just what we needed. Would have preferred Tony Lama had made these boots the US or Mexico, not Asia. But they work for the wife and kids.
